Karen Renee Allen, age 43 of Rockwall, TX, passed October 1, 2011, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She was born August 9, 1968, in Bangor, ME, to Lawrence Stanley and Janina (Dougherty) Taylor. Karen was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and was an employee of Brookshire's since 1995. She was a loving wife, mother and sister. As the youngest child, Karen was very involved with family and especially in her own children’s lives. She stayed active and enjoyed camping, swimming and biking. Karen was dearly loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her husband: Don Allen of Rockwall; children: Tiffanie Aaron, April Allen and Ryan Allen all of Rockwall; beloved pets: Sadie and Jennifer; father: Lawrence Taylor of Kenduskeag, ME; mother: Janina Bieker of Rossmoor, CA; sisters: Luanna Clamptitt of Bangor, ME, Alice Wynne and husband Shawn of Mannford, OK, Stephanie Mayfield of Royse City, TX, and Angela Godat of Mesquite, TX; brothers: Michael Taylor and George Taylor of Kenduskeag, ME, and Mark Taylor and wife Kellie of Rossmoor, CA; mother-in-law: Jerry Canady; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter: Jacquelyne Ashley Allen; and stepfather: Eugene Bieker.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father George Monaghan officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Visitation at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm.
Stephanie, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved sister. She fought long and hard in her battle, and she touched many lives along the way. Prayers for you and your entire family at this time. Amy

I am deeply saddened by Karen's death. She was such a great sight at Brookshires and a good friend. My prayers are for the family. Karen was a rare jewel. I'll miss her.
