Bob, Lynda, Eric and Sharon,

I was saddened to hear of Faye's homegoing and I pray for God's comfort for all of you.  We will miss her unique personality, her love for Jesus and her enthusiasm of the game of 42..   I'm pretty sure she and Nancy have had some great conversations in heaven!  Expect to see you at the memorial service.

Dear Bob & Lynda, Eric & Sharon,

Our heartfelt condolences, but we also rejoice that Gram is now in the presence of the loving God.  Our family loves her since we met her at the seminary.  She has been a great grandma to our kids.  We will never forget her kindness, love, patience, wisdom and wit.  Her prayers have sustained the ministry of planting churches among the unreached.  Souls who have been saved as a result of her prayers are waiting to see her in heaven.

I had the priviledge of being Phyllis Faye's neighbor for 9 years.  Through the time, we became well acquainted and close friends.  We shared meals, coffee and cookies as well as tears and smiles. She had the bark of a guard dog and a heart of melted gold. I will always treasure knowing and loving her and all the "counseling and guidance" she gave me though our years together.  She didn't hesitate to tell me that was the wrong or right thing to do and as a Mother, would brag when I did well!! She could promptly tell you that you were wrong, or right (umm..I think I would have to say a little bit opionated}...but never failed to offer support when there was a need.  I will miss her walking past my door daily, sometimes knocking "just because she hadn't seen me that day" or to tell me something to laugh about, or that she was just having a bad day or mad at Washington!!  Oh my, how I loved those political arguments!  Dear Faye, I will always love and remember you.  Hope you save me an apartment near-by so one day we can continue our friendship.  I will never forget you.

We had such fun at Monday night dinner.  We laughed and laughed about political stuff.  Thank goodness I agreed 100% with her.  Will miss her at Evergreen.

To Bob, Eric and Linda, and all the family - Please accept my sincere sorrow to hear of Mrs. VanderDrift's passing.  While it is most comforting to know that she had a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ (and is now with Him), nonetheless it brings tears to my eyes as this reminds me of my own parents passing years ago.  We wish we could hug them just one...more...time.   Rev 21:4
