I feel very fortunate to have worked several years with David in the City of Longview Engineering Dept. He was such a good engineer and so fair-minded but also a great father to his daughters. My sons were gone to college so we used to talk about the latest funny little things the wee ones had done. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers as we all grieve the loss of a special person.

My deepest sympathy to all of David's family. I worked with him for many years at the City of Longview Engineering Dept. David was known as a hard working, dependable and dedicated professional engineer. He worked his way up from a staff engineer, training & working in every project area - utilities, drainage, streets, traffic, construction - and was promoted to City Engineer. I also remember that he was a volunteer for a small fire dept. during those years. Most importantly though, we all witnessed his love for his family - it was evident both by his words and through his actions. I remember how hard he worked toward the building of his family's new home in Hallsville during that time. I can recall the many times his face lit up with fatherly pride when he spoke of each one of his beautiful daughters or whenever they visited his office. His love will be with you always.

I was David's college roommate at UTA, and after my return to Texas we met for lunch regularly to talk and laugh and share stories of our respective families and friends. He was a wonderful person, and he is sorely missed on this earth. Ken
