Joan Margarette McKee, age 62 of Bonham, TX, passed away January 20, 2010. She was born April 13, 1947, in Houston, TX, to Leo and Margarette (McClellan) Peden. Joan worked for 10 years as librarian at the Bonham correctional facility. Before that she devoted herself to teaching special education in schools throughout Texas. Joan was passionate about the fine arts. She loved to read and attend musicals and movies. A special time for her was lunch and a movie with her daughter. She loved her family and they loved her. When she became ill, her son was her devoted caregiver, something her family will not soon forget.
Joan is survived by her daughter: April Crady and husband Kevin; son: Joshua Shrum; sister: Jane Burnam; former husband: Bill Shrum and wife Danette. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held10:00am Saturday January 23, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel with Dr. Aubrey Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. |

Condolences01-23-2010 Dear Ones, Joan was a sweet, gentle person. Mother appreciated that Joan kept in touch as did myself, Annette and Bobby. I hope you will find consolation as I have in the following Bible verses: They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.
