Ruth F.  Roberts

  

Ruth Frances Roberts, age 92 of Rockwall, TX, was called to be with her Lord Jesus on February 2, 2010. She was born December 30, 1917, in Lutie, OK, to Rev. James Thomas “Tom” Lucas & Lydia Frances (Vinson) Lucas. Ruth was retired from Ector County I.S.D. in Odessa, TX, and previously worked for Latimer County Agricultural Agency and Eastern Oklahoma College, located in Wilburton, OK. She moved back to Texas in 1986 until her death. Ruth was a member of Lake Pointe Church, formerly Dalrock Baptist Church, for 24 years as a fully developing follower of Jesus Christ. She was a great woman of Faith and loved the Word of God. Ruth taught Bible Study Classes for 64 years from age 16 until she was 80.

 

She is survived by her son: John E. Roberts, II & wife Elsa Patricia (Beam) Roberts of Kerrville, TX; daughter: Rayma Ruth (Roberts) May & husband D.H. May of Rockwall, TX; sister: Helen (Lucas) Lutke & husband Walter of Conroe, TX; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, the “love of her life” John E. Roberts; her parents; brothers: John and Jim Lucas; sisters: Rithma “Betty” Willbanks and Ruby McGee.

 

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 4, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A second visitation will be held Friday evening, February 5, 2010 at the Jones-Harkins Funeral Home in Wilburton, OK, from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Graveside services and interment will be 10:00am, Saturday, February 6, 2010, in Center Point Cemetery in Wilburton, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideon’s International of Lake Ray Hubbard Camp, PO Box 2046, Rockwall, TX 75087-4446 or the Pregnancy Resource Center of Rockwall, 709 W.
