McKinney – James Charles Moore, 77, beloved father, grandfather, and friend passed March 6, 2010 at a nursing facility in McKinney, TX following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
He will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, for his witty sense of humor, and for his technical skills to build and fix most anything. Jim was born in Athens, TX to James and Vera Moore. After his father passed away at a young age, Jim was raised by his grandparents near Harrison, AR on a farm before going off to boarding school. After graduation, Jim attended the University of Arkansas, but was drafted into the Korean War two years later. After serving his country, he moved to Dallas and then to Rockwall where he worked at an engineering company for 26 years. He then founded a successful engineering company designing equipment to support the nuclear power industry. He was an inventor by nature and invented many products, many of which were patented.
Jim was a loving father to his four children and wonderful grandfather (Papa) to his seven grandchildren. He is survived by his son James C. (Moore) Foster, his son Kevin & Cindy Moore (Idaho Springs, CO), his daughter Kristie & Reza Kaviani (McKinney, TX), and his son Jeff & Andria Moore (Midlothian, TX), his grandsons, Mark Moore, Cameron Moore, and Elliot Moore, and his granddaughters, Kimberly Foster, Keri Kaviani, Kelsi Kaviani, and Kati Kaviani.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., March 9, at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rockwall, TX. A memorial service will then be held at the DFW National Cemetery at 3:30 pm with military honors. |
